Has anyone found a way to use USB OTG on the kyocera event?

I have a flashdrive with several movies that I would love to watch on my phone, however I can not seem to get my phone to "see" my flashdrive when I plug in my usb otg cable. I have tried USB OTG Helper and Stickmount but have had no success with either app. (My event is rooted)

So does anyone know how I can get this to work without a custom kernel/rom since there isn't any for the Event?

Just realized i never responded...oops

Usb otg helper doesnt work.
And iv tried with flashdrive in cable first and without it in the cable first.

You had any luck with the event and usb otg?

i only use mine for gaming. sorry. but nothing can be done with this locked down. even with root we cant do much of anything. its a lost cause

Well I tried again todday. Used both USB OTG Helper and StickMount and had no luck with either. Neither app mounts my flashdrive. Even tried a different flashdrive and still no luck. Even tried my usb mouse and nothing happens.

I'm guessing that the Event isn't supplying power to the otg cable but I'm not sure. Nor am I entirely sure how to test this.

Yeah, doesn't work due to no support of OTG in the kernel and the cpu/motherboard/whatever its called. No app will "Magically" enable something not built into the phone hardware.

Currently, I just use my tablet that has built in support so I'm good now.
