Hello,

I am developing a device (dongle alike) that connects to the phone's App thru the USB connector. To work - the device needs to be powered.

How can I rely on the availability of USB OTG Powering the device? How much is it popular in 2013 models, 2014? 2012 and back?

Is OTG mandatory today?
Is it with the power function enabled as default?

The phone has to be OTG-capable and the user has to be running an OTG cable. You have no control over wither, you just list them as requirements.
