USB port is not working

I seem to be having a problem getting devices to connect to my phone through USB cables. Both computers and media devices do not detect the phone. The problem is not the cables. Same cables used with another note 8 works just fine and both computer and devices abled to detect the other phone. Went into developers option and did the usb debugging. Still does not work. Have compared settings with the other note 8 within the developer options and have duplicated the settings. Still does not work. Charging works fine. Is there any other settings i am missing out or do i need to do factory reset?

well the only thing left to try is factory reset and see.....not sure what else you can do

In your Developer options menu, along with enabling USB debugging, check the Select USB Configuration option and that the MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) option is selected.

Thanks. This is what the usb configuration looks like on my phone and it was on before.
Thanks anyways. Looks like am doomed for a reset.

If you do a Factory Reset and that same problem still occurs if you want to try replacing the USB port itself, for this particular model it won't require a motherboard replacement. Looking at iFixit the USB port is part a replaceable daughter-board, as shown here (step 9):

Is your port wet? If I get my phone wet with salt water it never drys out, once after two days of not being able to charge through USB I rinsed the phone in tap water and in two hours it was fine.
