Help USB Port

I connected my Sandisk flash drive to the usb port on the keyboard of my ASUS TF101 running ics. The tablet recognizes the drive and the folders on the drive, but when I try to open the files, that are in rtf and odt format, I get the message "open file failed." Any suggestions? Is there a setting I need to change to make the files readable on the tablet?

Can you copy the files on to the tab and read them on the tab itself? Have you tried emailing them to yourself and reading them that way?

Do you know what app is associated with rtf and odt files?

Sorry for asking loads more questions :o

El Presidente,
I tried sending one of the files through e-mail. For some reason it didn't seem to send, but when I clicked on the sent mail folder and tried to open the file, a screen popped up that said there is no installed app that can open this file. The file is in Rich Text Format. Is this format not compatible with Android? I'm new to the Android Market so am not familier with all the ins and outs. The files open with Word Pad on my Pc. One more thing I might add, when the flash drive is in the usb port, there is a red x on the icon of the flash drive.

I tried accessing the files through Polaris, no luck, I tried both of the programs you mentioned and they could not read the rft text either. I finally ended up moving the files to the hard drive on my laptop, opening each on in Word Pad then saving them on my hard drive in the .txt format. I then moved them back to my flash drive with the new format and Polaris opened all of them just fine. I didn't realize the android system was that different then what runs on my PC's. Thanks for all your help.
P.S. I also noticed that on my tablet, I have to mount the drive for it to be seen and unmount it before removing it. I didn't have to do that on my PC's.
