USB tethering a Android phne to a tablet?

I thought someone told me that if you ran a USB cable from your phone to say a tablet, you could set it up so the tablet could directly use the phone's internet connection, instead of having to wi-fi/hotspot it, is that true?

Nuts. Oh well, I dont have a tablet yet, and since I've been told apparently if I want to use the Verizon hotspot on my unlimited data plan I can pretty much turn it on or off for only a day or so at a time if I foresaw the need for it, so I'd only get charged a buck or so a day, hopefully that's also correct, since I was told the program is prorated.

I have never heard of it and I think I would have if this was possible, because many people would use it.

The easiest way would be to make a hotspot from your phone in settings. Beware that it will consume a lot of your battery.
