Help USB Utilities Missing in S3

Hi all,

I just received my S3 and I'm busying setting it up (transferring stuff from my Xperia Arc). One of the things that I realised is that the USB Utilities option is missing in the Settings. It is supposed to be in "More Settings" but somehow mine doesn't have it. I am on ICS 4.0.4.

The other thing is that when I use the Apps2SD app, it says "the device does not have a real primary external storage, or the primary external storage is emulated". I'm suspecting that this SD card issue is related to the USB Utilities problem.

My S3 doesn't come with a SD card, so I formatted one myself and used it. When I view the SD card with Astro, it shows that there is a extSdCard folder (stuff that I copied from Xperia) and a sdcard folder (which the S3's apps are using).

Did I do something wrong in the setup? :(

the ext-sdcard is the internal memory partitioned as a storage partition like a storage card, whie the sdcard is just that the actual card. Was running into that on friends Razrs that needed some help.

Do I need to format my SD card again to get the right folder structure? Right now, I can't use the App2SD app because it can't "see" my SD card.

The USB Utility is still missing though and I'm not sure how do I get that fixed. Has anyone else come across the same issue before?

Why exactly do you need to move apps to SD if you have 16GB of built-in memory?

Reformatting will not help. The only way is to swap names of sdcard and ext-sdcard and that may or may not be possible at this time.

Have you tried using the built in move to sd. I haven't received mine yet so I can't guarantee the feature is still there but I'd assume if the s2 could the s3 will. So go to settings, applications and select the one you want to move and there should be an option to move to sd.

Why bother? When you have so much memory that can only be used for apps on the main system, it is a waste of space to move to the SD card and if your card isn't a faster (above class 4) it can hurt the performance of your device. App to SD helped when phones came with low internal memory, but times have changed and more devices have amazing amounts of internal storage. 8gb internal on my Droid X and I don't get over 20% used and I have ALOT of stuff installed.
