Use home wireless when possible

Hi all

I have just got a Galaxy S4 mini and its the first contract phone I have had.

I would like it to use my home wireless for apps downloads whenever possible rather than the mobile network because my contract is limited.

How do I do this in android 4.2.2?

You can't exert that fine a level of control, unfortunately. If you open the Play Store app, choose Settings in its menu and then Auto-update apps, there's an option to only update over wifi. However there's no way of restricting downloads to only wifi other than self-control.

As slug mentioned, if you apply the setting for either "auto update only on WiFi" or "do not auto update" that will give you some level of control.

If you don't let it auto update at all, it will leave it completely up to you when to download app updates.

You might want to consider applying a limit to your mobile data as well. Doing so will prevent the phone from using mobile data whenever you get close to the lit you set

I set my phone to update only when connected to WiFi but I have a number of wireless networks with passwords in the phone. It connects to each of them when it's in range.
