Use of Samsung Wireless Charger with Galaxy S6

I bought a Samsung Wireless Charging Pad shortly after I purchased my Galaxy S6. I like the charger, but it never starts charging the first time I set the phone on the pad. I have to set the phone on the pad, pick it up, and set it on the pad a second time. This usually works, although occasionally I have to pick it up twice and set it on the pad a third time. It does not seem to matter how the phone is placed on the pad, as long as it is centered fairly well in both a horizontal and vertical position. Has anyone else had this problem with the charger?

I can agree that my wireless charging is also finicky but I do sometimes get lucky and it starts charging on the first placement. My wife has a leather bookcase style cover and it is even worse when placing it on the wireless charger.
Still much easier that plugging it in each night.

I don't think it is specific to that model phone.

I have noticed that the Qi charger pads and a phone, if not having been used for a bit, seem to be slow at recognizing that the phone is on the pad.... but, once that phone has been used on a Qi charger, I can put it on a different Qi charger and it will immediately take a charge.

I have also noticed, that if I am certain the position is good, that if I just leave it alone, it will start charging in about a minute.... the technology is not perfect yet.

Thanks for the replies. I set my phone on the charger about 10 minutes ago and decided to wait to see if it would start charging without any other action. It didn't after 10 minutes, so I picked it up and set it down again. It started charging immediately. I agree that this is a small nuisance compared to plugging in a cord every time.

Is the charger the original QI Charger:

Or,the newer,Fast QI Charger:

Regardless of model,I'd ask for a replacement/refund,you shouldn't have to fiddle w/it,especially it being a Samsung product.

If you have the original,I'd at least exchange/refund & try out the newer model.

FWIW,TYLT makes a kickass charger that works every time, even with a case installed,no fuss-no muss:

Shop around & Google Search for discount codes, often you can get this charger for a good deal less than MSRP.

It's the original EP-PG model, purchased on Amazon on July 24, 2015 and sold by Mazel Wireless for $32.75. BTW, the phone is in an OtterBox case, which could affect the operation.

Does it charge properly without the case? (the first time, every tiime?) If so, you know what Samsung will end up telling you as well :)

I second the recommendation from @KOLIO - TYLT is pretty neat! Charges pretty fast, and no need to fiddle around to get it just right - just place it normally and it charges.
