Root Use phone in Colombia

Im going to be back n forth from the US to Colombia. I saw a site that will sell you a unlock code to I guess change from the US signal to accept the signal in Colombia.

1. Can you use the LG Esteem in South America? Is is able to find the type of signal.

2. My phone is flashed and Rom #2, is there a way to unlock the signal myself?

Why will my phone not work? I am seeing post on sites about the LG Esteem working in south america. also site that you pay like $3 to to send you the unlock code so you can put other sim cards in and it will work

Hello and welcome to the forums . You cant unlock the esteem cause its already unlocked . The icc card that metro has in it to give you the 4g access . If u want a phone unlocked u need to get a tmobile atandt sprint and now straight talk its 45 us dollars a month. U get a unlocked device or get a locked phone and unlock it . But as u see it a law stopping us from doing this so u have to buy it unlocked .

Plus Esteem use the old iccid card and it is not a sim card.
