Help Use songs from my music app for ringtones?

Sunny99

Lurker
I just got this phone so i'm still a little new at how to do things on it. The guy who had it before me had great taste in music and there are a bunch of songs in the music app .. i'd like to use one or more for ringtones but there is no option i can find to do so. I"m speaking of the music app that is already on the phone.. not an app i added.. any help? or am i stuck with the boring ringtones for life?
thanks.

Just go from the menu to settings then choose sound. You should now see where you can change the device ringtone.

sounds simple enough LO
L BUT..
I want a ringtone from my music app.. not the ring tones the phones offers... the general ring tones are quite boring.

Get the 'Ringtone Maker' app from the Google Play store. It's free and will do what I think you're trying to do.

From the music player, select the song, then hit the settings key (bottom left), then choose "set as". The song can be used as a ringtone or even an alarm.

Susan, check the post above yours, does that sort you out?

Alternatively, if you create a folder on your SD Card called Ringtones and put the MP3 files in there, they'll be available to select in the list the next time you try to set one.
