Hey guys, this is my first post!
I recently purchased the Droid Bionic and I noticed that when I type in words that aren't actual words, that it would auto-correct to what the phone thought I meant to type--- this is all good and fine since I turned auto-correct/punctuate on. However, I am fairly sure that when I want to add my own word to the user-dictionary, all I did before was simply tap on the entered (after auto-correction) word and then click on my original word on the spell-check ribbon.
This seemed to work for the first couple attempts, but then it stopped. I then realized that the way to add words to the user-dictionary while SMSing etc, is that you first enter your unknown word, and then WITHOUT pressing space (and therefore giving Android a chance to correct), you immediately press your word in the spell-check ribbon. This brings up a little "word: saved" statement and does what I want.
However, I don't really think of all the words I haven't yet added while texting, so usually what happens is, I press space, then realize it was auto-corrected, then I tap back to the word and press the original word in the ribbon... which does NOT add it to the user-dictionary. Was I just imagining things when I thought this worked earlier?
