I've been thinking about two things used here at this great forum cluster; the "post count" and the "thanks."

I was wondering, in view of the discussion about the other end of the spectrum; "thumbs down" buttons for users to consider, if the post count could be either replaced or augmented by a sort of reward system based on post count and thanks put together.

I envision a sort of meter there by the user's info; perhaps little androids that would be added one at a time for a certain number of posts, say 100, added to some for each thanks or group of thanks, say 25 (those figures just off the top of my head.. subject to wild changes .. :D).

Users could expect to see their little androids vanish in increments upon receiving infractions, or entirely upon being banned ("vacationed").

Just thought I'd run my thoughts by y'all.
 
You DO know how many little greed dude you'll have if this is implemented right Frisco? They'll take up the whole screen ;) lol

Well.. I little green droid dude per 100 posts? .. and per 25 thanks? maybe? ;)
 
Would 27 androids even fit on your profile section.. they'd be squished!

lol...that's more resonable. Well 200 posts and 20 thanks. Since thanks are harder to come by then posts ;) I saw a user that's been on AF since the beginning (forgot the name) with over 10,000 posts...that's A LOT of little androids. XD
 
you can get an idea here of post counts, just click the post column and it will sort by posts

that said, you can setup "promotions" on vbulletin, that will show certain things when a user reaches XX posts

for instance on my Delaware site we have this

you make 150 posts you get this =

now that has to be revised for here and on my site as many users have more then 3000 posts, but you get the idea. (we regard the traffic cone as the state flower of DE)

I wonder if it's too much to have the androids running around! That'd be cool :D I like the increment idea! So it's a tad more work to get the next android ;) I think the admins are trying to make AF run and not having its *faint* attack like its been having for the past week.
 
Looks like a not so bad idea. However, in the spectrum of "things to do" it's gonna be a pretty low priority. I'll definitely get it on the list of possibilities though.
 
i hear that, there are a million and one "cool things" we can do here. but there are still major parts missing that im sure you guys are focused on now like the app section, phone section, etc.

Same, looks better when people have a lot! Now...if we can get animated Androids...that'd be soooo COOL!!!!!!!! haha XD

Yeah you post junkie! I got a few thanks and a boatload of posts, but people always forget about that thanks button unless your a guide/mod =P

Well, heck.. then we need to lobby for tiny little Itty Bitty Frozen Droids.

Not jumping droids. Or shivering droids.. well, maybe shivering droids. :D
