Are there any Android user groups; Like you'd maybe meet monthly and talk about your phones, hacks, and favorite apps in person? I miss that stuff from back in the PocketPC days.

I used to like the ham radio and computer show meetups back in the 80s and 90s. Last time I went to any meeting of hundreds of like minded people was a few vape shows and expos in Beijing and Shanghai, last one was in 2018.

When it comes to meet-ups that I really like, here's a video of 2019 National Vintage Communication Fair(NVCF). Which is totally about electronics, and things.

Can't recall seeing any core memory during the times I was there, but on the other hand it's not something I was particularly looking for.. The NVCF is really for vintage radio, TV, audio, and telecommunications. But computer things did often turn up, as well as old calculators etc. Not much ham radio stuff though, but the radio amateur community has their own shows around the UK.
I have come to the conclusion that if you've heard a modem handshake you are old. How many years have purely on your device connections been a thing?

@dontpanicbobby I used to do a 1KHz whistle to start the handshake with modems and faxes. I probably still could.
Yeah if you could find a home landlines or a payphone. Do not try that at work. Just lately my security company installed landlines that record every conversation.
