I am travelling to Italy and I have a Vodafone Italy SIM card with a data plan. All is well for voice calls (the phone is unlocked) however I cannot connect to the 3G so I am looking for information.
On the Samsung website I found that the T679 phone supports 3G/UMTS: Band IV(1700), Band II (1900), Band V (850).
I think that the band used in Europe is Band I (2100) so this would explain why I cannot connect.
However I have read some threads which suggest that the phone *really* supports also 2100 but it needs to be set via some "hidden" setting.
And also that I have to manually change APN settings.
Anyone can tell me more on that? Thank you.
