Root Using a mac to root

I have searched the root forum and can't find anything on this. is there a way to root my nexus 7 using a intel based macbook or iMac????

Yes there is, quite easy too. You just need to download the Android SDK for your Mac located here:

Android SDK | Android Developers

Then follow the manual method rood instructions found here:

Read through the methods several times and make sure you understand it. Lots of folks use these root kits that does everything for them. I have done it manually on all of my devices I've ever owned and never had a problem. The knowledge gained in this process is invaluable if you run into problems as well. It's basically just a handful of commands entered in the terminal with your tablet connected via usb.

Edit: as with all Macs, you do not need the drivers the rooth thread talks about.
