Using a Samsung Galaxy Ace as an mp3 player

My current phone is a HTC One, however I find that I am running out of space for my music. I was looking for an mp3 player but from what i can see they are either expensive or dont have much memory.

So then I had a brainwave... why dont I just use a cheap android phone? I can get a Samsung Galaxy Ace for

If it's cheaper than the alternatives then it's a great plan. Especially if you root it and install an audio driver like Viper and a nice music player app like PowerAmp

my old galaxy S is my music player. it sits plugged in all the time, paired to my bluetooth speaker, and it just pretty much runs all day long.

can't remember the last time i used the thing for anything else.

Spare old androids can be recycled in a lot of cool ways.
Last year NASA sent a couple of satellites made from Nexus Ones into orbit
I saw a guy on here i think who used one as a remote camera that monitored his marine fish tank and uploaded the pics at set intervals for him to look at.
Music player is an excellent use.
Baby monitor or security device is another.
Even just using one as a mobile wifi hotspot is pretty cool.
Android rocks :)
