Help Using a second S Pen while the first is in the Note

I am thinking about getting a second S Pen (specifically this

ET-S110EBEG S Pen holder kit) as the supplied one is very small for my fairly large hands.

What I am wondering is whether I shall still have to remove my original S Pen from the slot in order to use the second one (which would be rather annoying) or is there some alternative to doing this?

I do it that way here, so that if I leave home without remembering the pen, the opne in the phone is still in the phone. You go to "Settings/Controls/S Pen/Turn off pen detection" and the phone will ignore that the pen is still in the phone/tab. Otherwise it'll ignore the second pen until you remove the first one.

I have two S-Pens (for the inevitable misplacing of the original). Turn off pen detection is UNchecked. The 2nd pen works with the 1st one in the tablet. I I check (turn on) Turn off pen detection, I have to remove the pen from the tablet before the 2nd pen will work.
