Using an external keyboard for note taking

I've used an external keyboard (Freedom Universal Keyboard) to take notes on my DX that has worked well for me. Taking notes during meetings and having them on my DX for transfer to others is important to me.

I'm still waiting for my SG3 to arrive some time after 7/9, but am trying to be ready to hit the ground running when it does finally get here.

I wonder if the drivers I used on my DX (a Keypro application and the driver from Freedom) will work with the SG3. Has anyone else with an SG3 planned to use an external keyboard like the Freedom Universal Keyboard for enhanced note taking?

The GS3 has a lot of connectivity options. I'm sure it'll work out of the box. You can even buy a USB On the Go (USB OTG) cable (they're cheap) and you can plug any standard USB keyboard directly into your phone and it works without any special software installed.

Gee, do you suppose they would also easily use a Bluetooth keyboard? I have a Kensington model M01144 for my tablet that I carry in the tablet case, so it is usually handy while using the phone. That would be a real plus if it would work on the SG3 as well. I can't get it to pair with my Motorola Droid X (running CM7).

I have a bluetooth keyboard for my tablet, it works fine on the GS3, as well.

Jerofld,

I appreciate the input. I hadn't thought of trying to connect a usb keyboard directly into my phone. I currently stow the fold up keyboard in my suit pocket, and whip it out when I need to start taking notes during various meetings.

Now that my S3 has arrived, I've got it working flawlessly, except for my external bluetooth keyboard.

I had been using a Freedom Universal Keyboard 2 and then an application from Mobilegear.com called Keypro. This worked very will with my DX. Now I can't get the phone to even pair with the Keyboard. Perhaps I should be considering a different external bluetooth keyboard? Is anyone else using another keyboard that can be folded up and placed in a suit jacket for intense note taking?
