Hi
Even when i download stuff with WiFi connected, the data is still being used. Is there any way to not use the data for downloading apps? Should i make fake apn or something?

Thanks

No it's not. When you are on wifi, and connected to a router, the phone uses the wifi data, NOT your carrier's 3g/4g data. If you are finding you are being charged for data, then its possible you arent fully connected to whatever wifi source you are trying to use.

It may have been a flook on my phone but back in March/April 2011 (and the verison of the market that was current at the time), each time i loaded the market , with wifi on, i got a 3G symbol at the top of my phone, then when i log off of the market, then the 3G disengaged and wifi kicked in . It could have been a setting in the wifi advanced settings tht may have caused it.. but i too, thoght tht the market was designed to cause carrier data to get hit (which would have been a sham if it were)

I've never see any Data usage with the Wifi on... ever...

It could have been a setting that may have turned my wi-fi on and off during certain processes. I've since then changed my setting to Wi-Fi (never sleep). Thats the only explanation i have for my experience.

I now have the Norton Mobile Utillities (Beta) with a data usage panel. I browse the market for a good extensive period so to check the Data usage panel and 100% wi-fi used.

Note: I have unlimited Data and keyed in custom limits into Norton Utilities Just to get a benchmark. * No mobile data used during a market test :o
