Using Android phone as 3G modem

Hi,
I'm going to use my Android phone as a 3G modem for connecting my laptop and PC to use 3G network. I wanna know whether it's safe for phone or not? I mean, using phone for downloading huge files and videos for long time.
My phone is Huawei Ascend G525

Other then draining the battery faster the phone should be fine.

Check how your carrier bills data usage - this could cost you tons of money and/or get you throttled.

4g speeds in my experience are on par with a decent DSL connection. It was enough to cancel my unreliable WISP and use my GS4 as a hotspot. 12gb of data and i can still use Netflix and Youtube without going over.

3G is about 1.5Mbps down, but LTE phones cripple the speeds when they dump 4G for 3G in fringe areas. 3G on a GS4 4G LTE phone are as awful as EDGE.
