Help Using Android to load faces onto watch then use Iphone

Hello,

Just got my new Huawei watch. Currently use an IPhone 5S, but will have to switch to android (work) in the next 6 mos.

My question is: Can I use a Galaxy S5 to load watch faces onto the Huawei and then repair with the Iphone and the faces still be there?

Thanks,

Rich

No, the watch will only pair with one phone at a time, and will only sync faces with that watch. When you change paired phones the faces will be synced with the newly paired phone.

Thanks Unforgiven. But doesn't the face then load into the memory of the watch? Otherwise the watch would be faceless when out of bluetooth range.

The faces are loaded on the watch, but will resync when paired with the phone. So if it is paired with a phone that doesn't have that face on it, it will be removed from the watch. The only exception may be Watchmaker faces, but I haven't used too many of those.

Paring with a different device actually requires you to factory reset the Watch in the process. Tedious and annoying, yes, but it's unfortunately just a fact of life. This means that once you connect to the iPhone any apps/faces/data you had loaded from the Galaxy will be erased.

That's all true, however you could sideload these faces onto the watch manually. You would have to get all the apks to do it, but that's not too hard. Note that, if any of the faces use a client app on the Android Phone, you won't have access to those features (such as weather or anything online). But there are lots of nice watch faces out there which are fine and will run on your watch without an Android phone.

I do it all the time. I currently switch occasionally between my iPhone and an Android Phone. I have all the apks in a folder on my computer and simply push them all to the watch after I pair my iPhone with my watch. It's a little technical but not too tricky. You'll find a lot more discussion about this at the XDA forums :)

Good info! I hadn't even considered that approach. :)
