Using aux cable on dewalt radio

Hi guys I'm new here. I tried using my phone with the aux cable on my dewalt portable job site radio. with the volume all the way up on the phone and radio it is so quiet I have to stand next to it. a coworker plugged his iPhone 6 in and had no issues. what could be causing my s7 to be producing such low volume? Thanks
 
Have got the product number or something, or a URL for it, would give me a better idea of what you've actually got there. :) I know Dewalt makes power-tools, like drills and things. It's not one of those "Designed for iPhone" things is it, and if it isn't Apple, good luck! Does it have Bluetooth, and could that be used instead? I used a Samsung Note7 for a few weeks with a few different Bluetooth speakers, and had no problems with volume on them. But then that phone had to be returned.

From what I've seen most devices like this now have Bluetooth A2DP in them, so you don't even have to bother with wires. And volume never seems to be a problem with any phone.

I assume you've checked the loud volume warning pop-up that Samsung devices do, usually for when using headphones. Only solution I can think of then to get more volume from the Samsung is to use an outboard amplifier to the aux, to give more drive to the radio.

Another possibility, try an inexpensive Bluetooth receiver dongle that plugs in the radio's aux. Something like this, and comes from China of course. :thumbsupdroid:

I'm assuming that you don't have any volume issues with your S7 when you're using earbuds or some other external speaker system, yes?
One thing I wondering about is the aux cable you're using. As it works OK with that iPhone, if you look on the plug ends of the aux cable do they match with the plug end of your S7's earbuds? There are different kinds plug ends that may be the same dimension overall but with a different number of contacts:
