Using Bionic in Vietnam from USA?

Hi

Newbie here.
I am travelling to Vietnam and Thailand (from the US) and would like to be able to use my new Bionic (on Verizon) for both local and calls back to US numbers. Is it possible to buy a sim card there and use it. I don't know how this all works so any advice is greatly appreciated! Last time I went to Malaysia with my Verizon Storm, they wanted almost $3/minute so I used Skype instead but would really like to use the Bionic this time.

The Bionic is not a global ready phone. The Sim card is only for LTE purposes.

Sorry, you won't be able to with the Bionic. You'll need a global phone such as Droid 3 or Droid Incredible 2.
