Root using different sd for different flash

this might be a really stupid quiestion i must admit i really dont know much about flashing and whats involved but would it be possible to have 2 sd cards with different os say one with 2.1 and one with ginger bread on it?
 
Possible yes....could also do like I have. I have a 2.1 and 2.2 image I have created on my SD card and I can load either one. Don't nee two separate SD cards.

Look into xRecovery....lets you load any premade mods/images and create backups of your current setup.
