can anyone tell me if its possible to connect the s5 to an external hard drive. i have a samsung m3 portable 1tb hard drive and was wondering if it is possible to connect the two. thanks

Well, I dug out my USB 4 port dongle and have the S5, the 1 TB HD and my PC all plugged together.
The desktop PC is providing the power to run the Hard drive, and the PC file manger can see both the S5 and the HD.
I installed https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rhmsoft.fm.hd ( File Manager HD ) on my S5 and looked around with it, but so far, I have not been able to detect and look at the hard drive. It is on the USB port so it should be there....
I attached a photo of the 4 port USB adapter
I found this article which says it can be done..... I am late for bed time, gotta run and grab my ZZZZzzzz, so you can study it .... I will look later.

How is the HDD formatted, if it's Windows NTFS it may not mount and be visible to Android.
