Using ipod wall charger to charge

I'm having trouble with the official wall charger & was wondering if I plugged the usb cable (one used to go to computer), into my iPod white charging brick would it be ok. Checked the output/input & all the same as samsung & it does charge. Just wondering if it would do any damage in the long run?

what sort of trouble you have with your original wall charger?

Just in case, the wall charger needs to be plugged into the phone before the wall, before turning on at the wall.

Trouble with charger is it doesn't work. Either the connection at end is wrong our something else, but have to place into phone at particular angle to get it to connect & charge, hence why I'm asking about using another charger
