Help Using Nexus on Sprint Prepaid

A friend of mine has a Nexus S on Sprint and, for various reasons, they're terminating his family's service on Spring. He already owns the Nexus S and is considering using a Prepaid plan. I know Virgin Mobile and Boost both use Sprint's towers which means the phone's on those services can use Sprint's cellular technology.

His device isn't rooted yet, but I can fix that quite easily. I've heard rumour that it's possible to use a Sprint phone on one of their prepaid services. Has anyone heard of this being possible and if so, are there any guides on how to do it?

I have a Nexus S 4G flashed to boost mobile. Everything works great and yes it is possible. There are guides but most do not work. The person i learned how to do this from was the user of 'kolosus'.

Also be aware if you want to flash to one of those carriers, you need to buy one of their cdma 3g phones and activate a plan to use it as a donor
