Root Using Odin to go from EB13 to EC05 modem

I want to update my syndicate rom from 1.02 to 1.1 but I have to finally break down and use Odin for the 1st time.

My question is the specifics of Odin -- do I need to put in a .pit file or not? If so, is it the .pit file included from Syndicate's version or do I need to get it somewhere else? I couldn't find any specific answers to this.

I've also seen some back and forth on whether to put the EC05 modem tar file in PDA or Phone?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Nevermind - I found a similiar post and answer. For anyone that might run across this an curious themselves

just the EC05 modem tar in 'phone', uncheck everything except auto reboot and you're good to go. besides the USB cord losing connection a few times it was pretty quick.

loving the new syndicate rom!

You are literally stealing words from my mouth! I too am on SRF and now have to finally break down and and use Odin. I'm planning on running it through tonight (currently on SRF 1.0.2) to at least put the new modem on.

I've seen quite a few problems seemingly so far with 1.1, so I'm a bit leary to go for it.

Thanks. I was in the same position just now and found this post. Saved me a headache.

No problem. I backed everything up, and flashed it with no ill effects as of yet. Speeds don't seem to be all that much better, but at least I have an EC05 modem now, so it won't be a hassle upgrading to EC05 based ROMs.

Help i tried this and now it says no service and i can't access my market app :( please help

Were you on EB13 before you flashed this? Or were you on something else, something older like DI18 or something? If you weren't on EB13, that's your problem right there. If you were, you're the first person I've heard of having an issue with this process....

FWIW, I'm no longer able to mount my SD card via USB after flashing this, but ONLY on my win7 x64 machine. It still works on my WinXP Pro machine. Not sure if there is a correlation there, but the only change to anything was flashing this modem.

Not a big deal, but more of a hassle than anything else.
