Using only WiFi

So, I am getting an Xperia X10 soon but I'm only going to be in the US for another year so I don't see the point in subscribing to a data plan. Also, I'm kinda stuck on a family plan right now. Lulz.

Regardless, I have full WiFi coverage where I'm at and would only like to use WiFi. I've heard of background data usage on certain phones so is there a way to program the X10 so that it ONLY does data-related tasks when on WiFi?

Ermmm wouldn't that use wifi anyway?
anyhu there is an option to turn off background data usage although whenever you want to use market, you have to enable it to continue. if your worried about 3g then there's widgets out there that can turn off 3g n also the apn!

Hope it helps!!

Well, I meant that I wanted anything related to data to go through only my WiFi connection. :)

But yeah, sounds good. ^^ Thanks.
