Using Other Wacom Pens

The nice thing about wacom is that most wacom pens from other systems will work on the galaxy note 2. I have 2 at home for my samsung slate similar to these 2:

Amazon.com: Wacom INTUOS4/CINTIQ21 Grip Pen: Electronics

Amazon.com: Penabled Tablet Pc Eraser Pen: Electronics

I took them to best buy tonight to try them out in addition to the s-pen. The s-pen is great and all, just a little small for comfortable writing. The s-pen of course wrote fine and on center, but when I tried my pens, both wrote with the cursor misaligned. This was strange as both of these pens worked great on my friends galaxy note 1. Not sure if maybe the security mechanism had something to do with it or if the pens themselves hold calibration data from my computer. That doesn't explain why they work with the note 1 and not the note 2 instantly.

Anyone have any experience using other pens on the note 2? Any way to calibrate other pens for it?

Someone posted in one of these threads that the Wacom pen that works best with the Note II is the Wacom Bamboo Pen. None of the reviews made mention of using this pen on this phone. If anything, they all said they bought it because they lost the pen that went with whatever they wanted to use it on.

Anyway you have to keep in mind that not all Wacom pens are going to work on the Note even if they work on a different device.

I use my Note1 stylus in the pen holder kit and it works perfectly with the Note2. It is so much more comfortable to write with :D:D

The kit contains the holder and a additional S-pen

Samsung Pen Holder Kit for Galaxy Note: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

Have you tried inserting the Note 2 pen into the pen holder kit?

Its too big, to be honest 'Ive never used the stylus's in their native form as they are just too uncomfortable to use. I just throw the holder kit in my handbag and away I go.

I wonder why my pen works great on the note 1 and not the note 2. What's great about the other pens is that a lot of them have replaceable tips that have different features. The one for my slate has a felt tip that would be ideal for writing on glass.

Good question and I wish I had the answer. I've been googling a lot about digitizer pens and tablet pens....etc. The only constant I've come up with is just because it's a tablet pen doesn't mean it'll work on all digitized screens.

I'm completely comfortable with the S-Pen but the whole topic of digitizer pens makes for interesting reading.
