Root Using Safestrap???

JDunc

Android Enthusiast
I've only experienced Bootstrap, but I see to install one of the custom ROMs I want to flash via Safestrap. I open the app and install the recovery. It says to power off, power on, and hit the menu button. I did so and nothing happens. I see the Motorola Dual Core screen and hit the menu button ASAP, but nothing happens. Any suggestions? Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Moved to the root section.

Did you revert bootstrap first? Did you ensure you had the correct version of safestrap?

I never installed Boostrap, and yes I know I have the right version. It gave the link to the Safestrap apk. in the list of instructions :/

Here's what I did. I installed the .211 OTA manually and when I installed it Bootstrap wasn't installed anymore, but it had been prior to me installing the OTA. Either way, it's not installed anymore.

ok you need to use something like es file manager, and go to the root of your phone system/bin, then remove the file "highjack", logwraper, then rename logwraper.bin to "logwraper", just take out the bin, thats the only way to 100% remove it

I don't see a system folder. Just downloaded ES file explorer. I'm on the root of the card so where do I go? Sorry I'm new to this. Thanks for your patience.

he's not the only one with that problem i have a brand new phone with the ota and was never rooted prior to the ota i root install safestrap and reboot nothing happens i think it may have something to do with it on the ota ics
