Using stock camera with G4

Now I've upgraded to Android 6 on my G4 I was hoping to be able to use some of the features in the stock Google Camera app, but sadly, they don't appear to be there.

I've upgraded the app via apkmirror to get the latest version from the new Nexus phones, but the one thing I wanted was slow-mo which isn't there.

I'm aware that there is a slow-mo option in the LG Camera, but since there is no easy way to export or share slow-mo videos without first transferring to a computer and using an editing package, I was hoping using the Google Camera app would allow me to do this.

Given the G4 and Nexus 5X are "cousins" is it likely we'll get these features enabled in the Google Camera app? Or am I missing some thing - is there a way to use these that I'm not seeing?

Thanks

What is the version of Google camera you are using? Latest I can find on Playstore is 2.5.052. However reading through this thread on XDA someone mentioned if anyone tried using Nexus camera 3.0 in post #83. Can't see if anyone has, and I wouldn't be saying I recommend without backup etc in case it's not compatible. but I'm sure at some point the boffins over there will extract and modify the S6 or Nexus camera apk so we too can get the proper slow-mo etc.
But actually, looks like from the link in there the apk won't even work anyway.
But the main point, think Nexus X/P are using 3.0 not 2.5.x

The version I downloaded this morning was 3.1.021 which was an upgrade to 2.5 that was on my device. Screenshot below shows the changes to the look of the camera app in 3.1 over 2.5 (I am aware my keyboard is horribly dusty!! :D)

Ah right interesting. Then I have no suggestions I'm afraid, especially still being on 5.1.1 I can't test and look around. Assume by the flash is timer rather than timeshift type thing? If so I am guessing the speed changes are only usable in Nexus devices, at least for the time being.
