using tasker to activate app

Looking for information on how to set up a tasker profile to activate the record function in the blackbox application. Any ideas?

Unless it is listed under the 3rd party apps in tasks or there is a plugin for it I don't think you will be able to get Tasker to activate a certian feature of the app. You can get it to launch the app but you would need to manually turn on the record feature.
