Using technology to get stuff free (not stealing)

Hey Everybody,
So I finished working on a project at home last night and it got me thinking "what else?" I've got a big family so I have to cut costs anywhere I can. Technology makes things available to us for free that previously we had to pay for.
1. Home Phone Service - (last night's project) I configured my google voice account with a free PBXes account, set up a VoIP phone and now have free telephone service for up to 2000 minutes per month.
2. Television - instead of having a paid television service, we watch internet TV. I hooked up an old laptop to our TV, got a wireless keyboard with touchpad and we watch HULU or use network websites to watch episodes of our current TV series. I miss live sports (Atlanta Braves fan) but I'll live and our kids are just as content watching cartoons from HULU.
So, what else am I missing? What else can I use technology to get free or very cheap?

Netflix isn't free, but for a streaming only service, it's a pretty good deal.
There's always that crazy place called the library! The one in Lawrence, KS where I used to live had a wonderful DVD selection (and oh, some books too).
There are plenty of tv streaming websites out there. None of which I can mention for obvious reasons.
For some live sports, you can go to ESPN3. Quality is highly variable though.

Ive got a "Classic movies" plugin for XBMC which puts together an archive of classic movies, by genre on my media centre. Its totally free.

They're really old, 1920's, 40's 50's etc. There are some real gems in there though.
