Help Using verizon galaxy nexus with another CDMA provider

Guys,

I have a Samsung Galaxy nexus for which my contract with Verizon will be ending next month. I am planning to move to a cheaper prepaid service.

I know mine is a CDMA based phone. Is there anyways I can start using any other carriers services on this phone?

I am not a very heavy data user. 500 Mb a month max.

How will my phone work with straight talk? Arent they only provice ATT and T-Mobile carriers both of which are GSM? My phone is Verizon based so CDMA.

Even if you did move to another provider, you won't get LTE to work because it only supports Verizon's LTE frequency and they don't allow their MVNO's access to the network. Plus changing carriers with a CDMA phone is quite a process compared to changing with a GSM phone or possibly can't be done legally if the carriers don't cooperate.
