Root Utility to unzip and zip ROM's

I wanted to unzip a ROM, replacement a few files and zip it again. My Mac's when I do this with my Mac's default compression utility it results in a zip which cannot be flashed. I was wondering what you gents use, even on other platforms.

I would've thought that a rom is just a compressed folder. I've never had to unzip but I'd just use the built in tool on Windows 7. Or Winrar

Thanks for the tip. No official 7zip for Mac, but went to their website and found links to unofficial p7zip packages on the site. Will try them.

Well, it didn't what I wanted. Opened up a ROM, replaced some files... Not for any reason but just to try.

Today flashable zips... Tomorrow my own ROM

sorry im late to this thread,but when native windows 7 extract doesnt work,like with signed by htc files,then i also use 7 zip.

if i need to zip,i always just use native windows 7 function(higlight all files,right click,send to,compressed(zipped) file)
