Root Utimate M835 customization guide

Im in deep s$$t, i deleted mms out of my wife's m835, I tried the recovery option in the phone and it didn't come back can you guys help me out ? Its rooted and i have root explorer installed, please tell me theirs an easy way to get the mms working again.

If you have 2 phones you can copy the accidentally deleted. APk and move it to the broken phone.

Only other option is a stock restore.

where can i find the stock rom ? i installed cm7 but now mms and internet dont work.
i would like to just be able to install the stock with clockwork.
can you help me out ?

all fixed now :)
i just fix my wife's m835
what i did was..
create a back up with clockwork mod.
then i replaced the files in the back up folder with the files from this http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39239113/M835.stock.zip
and done back to stock still rooted good to go.

I would appreciate any help anyone can provide. I'm a noob with modding phones but a buddy of mine from work advised me to use the gingerbreak 1.2 with titanium backup method. After about 4 days of fighting with it I gave up, I could never get titbu to delete the apps, ALWAYS told me that it couldn't find the apk file. I've now tried 2 other methods, z4 root and something else, I don't recall now. When I tried z4 the phone was rooted, z4 told me so. I undid the root and tried to root again with no success. Tried installing gingerbreak again and the phone wouldn't let me. Ive now factory restored the phone, funny that Superuser still showed up, and I've reinstalled gingerbreak 1.2 CAN ANYBODY HELPPPP!!!!!! lol, thx in advance!

Get root explore. I think its the only thing that will change the files to write. So you can delete them and all the metro apps are in the cust. Or cast folder I can't remember what its called

gingerbreak + root explore all you need to do what you want..

Nailed it right there.

Make sure you get the latest version on GB. There's a new Superuser app so net connection is a must.

hey bro open root explorer and hit on system folder instead of "cust" then hit on apps folder then you should see the rest metropcs apps there..

hey, what should i delete the .Odex files too or should i only delete the .apk files ??

thanks everyone for the great help....!

I have been "playing around" in the kitchen and have a different looking stock rom with a few bells and whistles.

Don't wanna high-jack

Open up root explorer, click on 'cust', click on 'metropcs', click on 'us', and then click on 'app' for starters. I deleted everything there except Metro Backup, which I use occasionally.

when you see something that says \cust or \whatever, all that means is that the \whatever is a folder that you need to navigate to. so in this case, if you follow my instructions, you'll end up at \cust\metropcs\us\app simply by clicking cust, then metropcs, then us, then app.

make sense? =)

tried the Root Explorer allit says is cannot delete read only i just figured out how to root now trying other stuff so any help on bloat ware would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance for help and trolling cause its inevitable

there's a button at the top of the screen where it will say R/O. if you tap it, it will toggleto R/W(this takes you from "read only" to "read write" access so that you can change whatever you choose on the phone/sd card's memory space). You need to be in R/W mode in order to delete the .apk files.
