Utterly woeful battery life on S3

Thank you all so much for the responses guys, my battery life is a lot better now since installing JuiceDefender!

Will further improve it by switching off wifi completely when I'm out during the day, and turning off data when I'm at home and have a wifi signal. AirPlane mode is tempting over night too!

If I need the extra power, I'll switch off location services for Google Now and see what impact that has :) But yeah, a big improvement already! Thanks again

Yes im really annoyed by this battery ordeal since everything else on this phone is top notch.

Heres what i dont get. So i put juicedefender on the other day and all my issues seemed to be fixed. However this morning, it seems back to where it was with juicedefender on still.

I took my phone off a full charge, did absolutely nothing....juicedefender was on etc...and it was down to 86% after an hour and a half of being on standby. What gives?

I have no account syncing or anything, juicedefender goin, not sure what more i can do...so very irritating to buy a phone and a person has to virtually turn off all these bells and whistles that youre supposed to be able to enjoy.

All I can say is what you describe does *not* mirror my experience with the SGS3. I took mine off of charge around 7:15am and at 11:00am was still at 93% battery left. When I left work for the day at 4:00pm it was at 79% battery left and that was after heavy use for around an hour at lunch and playing music for at least 3 hours in addition to checking FB and emails. This phone hands down is the best I've had yet on battery.

I have locale that turns off my BT and WIFI during the day too so I am LTE radio all day long which should be the hog.

Are you far away from the nearest cell tower? Do you have a rogue app (weather, email client syncing to often?) Did you maybe have a previous Android device and when you fired up the GS3 for the first time did a Google sync with settings? (believe it or not I had wacky things go on with my D3 after letting it sync settings from my D1 initially)
