I need to vent for a moment.

I'm on Eris #3, spoke with Tech support Friday because it would not maintain 3G coverage. After a one hour long conversation, a replacement was ordered. Over the weekend Eris #3 began to have severe dialer lag issues, to the point of not being to answer phone calls. I called back, and was told - I need to pay full price for another phone. I went to a store, told the same thing. (the dialer lag was the reason for replacement of the first two Eris phones)

This morning, Tech support called me back. Spoke with them for a while, told the same thing. I asked for a super, and was put on hold. During the hold I got disconnected. They tried calling back twice...I could not answer the phone. I tried calling them back, could not get the phone to call, AND the phone restarted itself.

Tech support leaves message saying the super would call back (not sure if the second call I couldn't answer was the super) but no call back number. So now I have to do the whole 611 call again! AH!!!!!
 
Sucks.good luck.don't call from your phone btw because if they need you to do something then you are going to have to call from a different number anyway
 
That sucks. Yeah, you shouldn't try to call from your problem phone, unless you have no choice. Generally, a landline is preferable.
 
I've had much better luck dealing with the issue over e-mail... and I wrote precisely because the phone was unreliable. Best of luck!
 
I am receiving a Motorola Droid within the next couple of days.

Also - I know not to call from the phone (as again, this was replacement #3), but sometimes, you have to do what you have to do.
 
I've had the Moto Droid now since Friday and wow, great phone. Sure it weighs about 8lbs, and it's not the prettiest thing, but the screen is great, and I can actually use it as a phone.

If you are having Eris issues, push to get a new phone. If they'll throw a Droid your way for free, then take it.
