[Verizon] 4.0.4 ROM suggestions

JSdroid

Newbie
Hey guys, i'm about to flash my first custom ROM. So excited! I've looked through a couple ones but I can't decide. Any suggestions?

Or should flash JB? I read that some people are having a hard time with this and I don't want to tackle this yet if it's going to cause some problems since i'm still new to this.

I would suggest moving to JB. It's much better IMO. Follow the ROMs instructions and do your research before flashing and you'll be just fine. Double check your methods and backup your sdcard to your PC. Btw I'd also advise to do this when flashing an ICS rom as well. gl and enjoy custom rom'ing !

If you want to ensure no bugs that could scare you away from flashing, I'd recommend the latest AOKP or LiquidSmooth ICS roms. They're both full of options will little to no issues.

I've been on AOKP (ICS), JellyBelly (JB), and XenonHD (JB), and have found XenonHD to be nearly as stable as an AOKP ICS build, and would be my recommendation. AOKP M6 is solid build though if you're not super stoked about JB.

I would go JB at this point. The more popular ROMS are stable already and relatively bug free but don't have all of their ICS features yet. AOKP, JellyBelly, Bugless... All are being heavily developed and are already stable... cM10 and Liquid Smooth are also options.

Google Play movies are the only thing that seem problematic. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I decided to go with Jelly Belly and so far so good. No bugs and smooth as butter. It's crazy how much I've learned the past two days. Thanks again.

If you guys have mods for j belly that are must try or must have, let me know! :D

there are other roms besides jelly belly that have mods, aokp preview builds, bamf, and a few others, they all have the mods built right into the system.

my personal favorite at the current time is BAMF, it has all the mods i need right now :)

WOW! I checked out BAMF and I'm impressed! I feel like everything I dreamed about that a phone should have in terms of user interface has it. just WOW.

I was on aokp m5, then jb bugless beast, and now jb bamf. I like jb bamf the best. It feels cleaner and a little more spartan than aokp, and jb kinda feels like it really flows smooth. I'll try aokp soon, and probably bounce around through a few ROMs and just figure out which I like best.

Right now, it's bamf for me.
