Root [Verizon] Carbon Rom keyboard force close issue. URGENT!!

Hey guys, i'm back after a long stint away from the android community. got a free galaxy s3 so i took to rooting and romming it right away. decided to start out with carbon rom. i flashed the most recent one and everything went fine with the flash. but apparently i downloaded a bad version of the gapps. so now my keyboard won't work and i need to find a way to get the correct gapps on my phone without a keyboard.

i made a backup before flashing but it seems to have disappeared. so thats not an option.

how so? this is a fresh install of carbonrom. my google account isn't setup. i couldn't even put my wifi password in. i haven't had a keyboard at all on it.

i can get into the settings. and that was the first thing that i tried. but there aren't any other keyboards installed. i read some where else that this issue is caused by a bad gapps file. so i'm thinking thats the only way to fix it. also, rebooting the pc didn't work lol

definitely not. i used it to root/ unlock the bootloader a couple hours ago lol can i use odin to push files to my phone? i have it installed but idk what all it does or how to use it

Now time for a dumb idea. What happens if you reload the rom without installing gapps, boot the phone and see if you can get a keyboard to come up. If it does use it to put in your wifi pw an Google account pw if possible and then go from there

got a good version of gapps to download through the goo manager app finally and reflashed the rom with it and all is good :) thank to both of you for all the help. the android community really is something else, and i'm gald to be back on board with it again!
