Verizon Charging for 4g LTE Phones?

Not to poop on all of the hype about the new phones that were covered in CES...but what about the charges? i mean, verizon not too long ago just canceled the 1-year contract upgrades. Was it to make room/ cut cost for the 4g releases so that we could have free 4g? or was it just for profit? i've searched around on sites and noticed Sprint was charging a MANDATORY fee for 4g on their 4g phones, whether or not they used the network didn't matter.

We can speculate all we want but I don't see the point. They'll make an official announcement at some point. No need to get worked up over what may be nothing. My suspicion is that we're just going to lose unlimited data, FWIW.

Sprint charges an extra $10 for 4g enabled devices (premium data or some bullshit) and people are paying it.

Why wouldn't Verizon do the same thing?

I think they will not charge for 4G... they will charge for data... their tier plans.

Sprint charges the $10, but they have true unlimited.
verizon will get their pint of blood via the data tier plans.

which do you prefer of these 2 methods??
$10/unlimited (i am not saying the fee is for unlimited)
tier plan? starting at $15 and much higher with no limit to the $$$

I heard 3gb is going to be $35 and 5gb is going to be $50

for 4g?...that sounds rediculously overpriced.

well, reason why i ask is because i'm debating on getting a droid 2 global, the HTC Thunderbolt, or the Bionic.

i'd rather not have the hidden fees for 4g. if there is, i probably won't get one of the announced phones...as much as it would kill me not to have one :(

with verizon.. 3G or 4G...

new accounts:
you will have the tier plans.. pick your level... if you go over.. be read for charges for the extra data at higher prices.

sprint... pay the $10/month if you want a 4G phone.. and its a buffet... eat all you can.
