Root [Verizon] Custom boot animation help

Hoping for some help with my custom boot animation.

I built a custom boot using instructions found on XDA, tried to follow the steps for install and can't get it to work.

Everyone keeps saying it's as simple as replacing the old boot in system/media with the new one and rebooting. I have tried this along with multiple different permissions settings and none with.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? It may be something in that actual boot animation itself that I screwed up.

I would assume this is for the Samsung Galaxy S3?

Does that have something to do with what you are doing?

It's identical... I think my issue is with the zip I built.. although I have never had much luck pushing things to folders within root explorer.

I'm going to mess with this more tonight!

I agree. Make sure there is no compression in the zip file. In Winrar, archive them in zip format, & also set compression type to "store". Also, the bootanimation.zip will work in the location /data/local if you want . . .
