Damn September...that's to long of a wait, I was hoping more like April/May. Guess I'll have to go to Droid Bionic. They will get it this year for sure. But we don't know yet when it will come. Hopefully earlier than September as it's launching oversea nearly two months earlier than Galaxy S did last year.
Well it definitely wouldn't be in April seeing as it's not releasing in Korea until the 25th of April (I believe) and in the UK right at the start of May. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a May release, even if it's late May.Damn September...that's to long of a wait, I was hoping more like April/May. Guess I'll have to go to Droid Bionic.

They already showed it on their Spring Road map. Supposed to be a LTE version. I'm sure most U.S. carriers SGSII will be a 4G device now. I say this month or through June is when U.S. carriers can probably announce them. It said May on Verizons road map but that can easily be pushed back.
I wouldnt mind getting stuck with this phone for 2yrs. Its specs beat out both the TB and Bionic and plus its thin n slim then both of those phones!![]()
Looks like it'll beat out the just announced HTC Sensation as well. I'm solid for the SGSII!
Are you talking about the fake roadmap? (Verizon

What makes you think it will beat Sensation? I like to see SGS2 to beat Sensation but didn't see any comparison testing yet.
I think it comes down to what type of skin do you like better and the functionality out them. I mean they both come with Gingerbread. Both have big screens. Both pretty thin. qhd vs plus. They have their unique differences. Personally I think the SGSII has a bit better quality over it. HTC devices are the same in a few areas from one flagship device to another that was announced a month a go. If you think about the Evo 3D, then what's the difference besides the 3D display? Same thing. I just assume that the people who think the SGSII is better then the Evo 3D shouldn't think different about the Sensation. Same device. I also feel that people assume the latest thing out is the best. Not always the case. You might be hung up on a device now and let a a device come out in the next couple weeks or even days and people will jump on to that. It's crazy.
Don't get me wrong though. Sensation is a nice device. Can't go wrong with it. People were already complaining about the slight lag it had in the never ending home screen spin. They need to know any device at an announcement is never final. Plus I notice the difference in the way it looks when you spin it compared to the Evo 3D. I think the 3D makes a difference in the appearance and that may be what people are getting confused about. I didn't see any lag on the Evo 3D.

I was speaking spec-wise, not benchmarks. Between AMOLED, more RAM, and better camera performance, I give the nod to Samsung. Didn't you yourself also state that the Samsungs were easier on battery life?
One of the biggest reasons why I didnt get the TB was the lousy battery life not to mention how bulky it is.It's not that I doubted your claim. Like I answered in other post, I was just under impression that you saw some real world testing that I haven't seen yet.
Yeah, Samsung has definitely better handle on battery life than HTC. Not sure if that's from driver optimization in OS or some better chips on board. But what matters is that Galaxy S easily out lasts phones like Incredible, Evo. There is no reason that this trend won't hold for SGS2 vs Evo 3D, Sensation. It's amazing that HTC pretty much gets free pass on it while so many folks are complaining on battery.
I understand what you are saying and mostly agree. I was just under impression that he got to see some sort of comparison test. So I was curious on it. Performance wise SGS2 will be beast from what we have seen so far. Even at 1Ghz, Exynos did better than 1.2Ghz 8660 snapdragon in early benchmarks. Also its new UI seems like really fluid to the extent that now we can refute iFan's common claim that nothing touches iPhone in UI smoothness. I think android OS will eventually offer hardware acceleration to match or even surpass iOS in UI smoothness.
Also regarding availability on Verizon, I recently learned that Korea has three major wireless carriers (SKT, KT, LG U+). One of them LG U+ is CDMA based just like Verizon and the other two are GSM like AT&T here. Good news is that Samsung is launching SGS2 for all three carriers at the same time this year unlike delayed CDMA release last year. This means that CDMA version is just as ready as GSM version for release. Even though it's still speculation, I think it's reasonable to expect it to arrive at Verizon after AT&T in shorter period than what happened last year.

I saw a comment from a prominent Android review site (I spoke to the editor) and he said he doubts the SGS2 will come with LTE because the Samsung Charge already does; he said it wouldn't make sense for another Samsung to have LTE so soon.
Plus, there are rumors that the Bionic was scrapped because Tegra2 wasn't playing nice with LTE, so if that's the case, either SGS2 will come with LTE and Exynos or no LTE and T2.
Also, I saw an article that suggested North American SGS2 models would run T2. If that's true, and if the Bionic rumors re: T2+LTE are true, then likelihood of SGS2 coming with LTE is very low.

Two things suggest the US will not get the T2, but rather the Exynos version: 1. The US is a key market for Samsung so I have to imagine they're going to target their own processor here. 2. Being how late the SGS2 will make it's debut here, it further supports the Exynos being the processor of choice as by the time there will be a relaxed international demand with many markets getting the phone first.
The Tegra 2 usage in the SGS2 is simply a way to meet demand due to short term supply issues with the Exynos. Samsung Electronics got a late start due to issues, but eventually they'll beef up supply. Make no mistake about it, Samsung wants to feature their own processor.
I also don't think a flagship powerhouse like the SGS2 will not have LTE, but I do think the Droid Charge means the SGS2 will not debut until September at the earliest on Verizon. I think Verizon wants it to be LTE, and the only reason not to include it is if there are concerns over maintaining the thin profile since current LTE handsets tend to be a bit bulkier.
Apparently LTE doesn't work on Tegra 2 devices (not sure about the Moto Atrix 4G, is that LTE or just HSPA+, which I consider 3G (or 3.5G or 3G+, depending on marketing)). That might narrow the US version down to Tegra 2 without 4G or Exynos possibly with LTE.
The MircoUSB port has MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) so with an adaptor, an HDMI cable can be used and it will charge. I saw on one preview that it has to be charging when you use HDMI, probably the extra power is needed. Whether or not the adaptor is included remains to be seen.
