Help Verizon Galaxy S4 group texting problems

I have an S4 for AT&T and my friend just got it for Verizon... when my AT&T S4 friends group text with him, our messages are fine and stay within the group thread.. but when the Verizon S4 replies back in the group text, we all receive the text messages as individual text messages.. even though his group text features are enabled and are turned on.. anyone know what the issue is? Its pretty annoying..

I'm seeing the same issue now that one of my friends got the Verizon S4 as well. It's very annoying that I get his messages outside of the group thread. It now looks to me as if this is a Verizon S4 issue.
