Hey everyone I am having alittle set back thats kinda annoying, but I accept it and hopefully a fix can be found here. I was using Cm11 on my verizon lg g2 and noticed a bug that was rather annoying so I downgraded and reinstalled the original rom, and then reupgraded to kitkat, and then rooted. I installed Xposed installer and then the G2 xposed app to do some tweaks, and now I noticed one major flaw and I think its coming from the xposed installer. Everytime I do a phone restart. Once everything i loaded I unlock the phone and a window popsup that says gapps stopped. This happens everytime I reboot. Any ideas on how to fix this? I even reinstalled and updated the google play and still happens.

What Xposed modules are you using? You should need very few with a custom ROM, most of the tweaks you need should be built into the ROM, if they are not you should try a different ROM.

I have tried tons of ROMs across dozens of devices, I have never used an Xposed mod in a custom ROM other than the current KitKat/Netflix fix on a few ROMs.

So what I am saying is if you are sticking with CM, wipe your device, reflash latest Gapps (BaNKs or PA-Gapps are best) and enjoy... If you NEED Xposed, then install the framework and mod, then activate the tweaks one at a time and see where the problem occurs.

You could just try another ROM, there are getting to be several for the G2 that are stable on KK now... Carbon, Mahdi, PA, etc are getting pretty solid.

I am on stock kitkat and rooted. and G2 xposed you think maybe its kitkat itself thats causing this for verizon model? its only on reboot when the gapps force close

And... that's what I get for responding before reading the whole post... Sorry.

I can tell you I am running stock KitKat, with Xposed framework and G2 Xposed with no issues at all, so it is a setting you have or something else conflicting.

Same troubleshooting applies though... Start clean and add until it fails, then you will know the cause.

sorry didnt mean to offend you. i removed the xposed frame work and g2 xposed. and still does it. i am not sure what programs could interfer

Now that is wierd I uninstalled it all and now its fine. I am not sure whats happened but i am going to try to reinstall xposed and try again

Ok well now this might be a bug but here it is. I installed g2 xposed after i installed xposed installer and now the only time it doesnt show gapps close was if I do reboot on the through g2, but still if i do a reboot though holding the power button down and clicking reboot it shows up again.

I'm telling you, you have a conflict of something. I run the exact same configuration and have never seen the gapps close error. Since you're familiar with rooting and romming, a factory defaults should be no big deal for you . I think this is where I would go next and slowly add in each component.

I found the issue. And confirmed it. I downloaded Google keyboard and used titanium pro to freeze the lg keyboard and that's where it came back. I defrosted it and all works now. Thanks for the help

I am confused about something maybe someone can help explain. Why would gapps force close only at the beginning of reboot with the lg keyboard frozen with titanium? i did alot of digging and testing and found this to be true, and I am at lost on why.

Hmmm... Who knows, but why freeze it? There is no need to freeze anything with KitKat, just disable it, if you freeze stuff in KitKat you can potentially break your ability to do a factory reset or get OTA updates, but if they are disabled you can always factory default and get OTAs.

Not all bloatware on verizon can be disabled. But usually when there is an ota I unfreeze them all and then OTA and then refreeze. I froze the keyboard because it wont let me disable and it also wouldnt let me switch to google keyboard, but it works now. Just shocked that the lg keyboard being froze would cause that.

It is kind of weird... not sure why that would cause the issue but it obviously does. I have never had an issue using a different keyboard on my G2, currently using Perfect Keyboard without an issue, just set it as the default keyboard and away you go.

Either way... you got it working, so way to go.
