[Verizon] Google now notifications??

I'm not sure if this is Jellybean related or ROM related. I'm running JBSourcery Version 2.3 but from the first JB ROM I loaded (jelly Belly) I don't get any notifications with Google now other than the cards in the notification pull down menu, and even they don't appear all the time. Yet when I got into Google now I have all kinds of cards. I'm just wondering if I need to enable notifications or turn on a setting or if there is some kind of trick? Under the Google Now settings i've set my notification sound yet I don't hear a sound when I get a card and I don't get a notifications in the task bar. I've searched the phone to try and find a setting but came up empty, hoping to find some help here.

In Google Now, scroll to the bottom and hit Change Settings. There you can turn on and off the cards as you need or want them.

Most of mine are off (they do eat battery) but I get notified when needed.

EXAMPLE: I have an event in my Google Calendar. In the "location" field I put the address of the event. Google Now will notify me when it's time to leave so I make that event.

Try that... but remember that the more cards you have polling data, the faster your battery will deplete. Hope this helps

Thanks, i'm not seeing the "change settings" but I know how to turn cards on and off. I only have a few on, sports, weather, and alerts. I just wish it would tell me when I have a card like in the notification bar.
