Root [Verizon] Help! Brick?!

dagactor

Newbie
I flashed a kernel that may have been incorrect and now my phone won't boot beyond the "Samsung Galaxy SIII" Screen. I can't get into recovery, but can get into download mode. HELP PLEASE!!!!

So I stupidly bricked my phone, but was able to ODIN the stock firmware and get it back to stock. Can I reload one of my nandroid backups or could this cause a problem? THANK YOU!

Hi there!
I see you have started a thread here, so I will merge this thread with that one k?
And we can continue discussion there. It would be easier that way instead of 2 different threads in 2 different forums:)

Once you are unrooted with the Odin flash of the stock firmware, the nandroid backup will not work.
You will need to re-root again.:)

Is your phone functioning at the moment like it was stock now?

So yes, I got it back to "stock," but it didn't wipe anything, so all my settings and data are still there. I will re-root now. I installed some incorrect version of lean kernel :-(

Ah, gotcha.:)
As a matter of habit, perhaps make a nandroid backup before any flash of a kernel or other .zip file.
In case something goes wonky, you can always reboot back into recovery, then restore the backup you made:)

Edit: just re-read your first post where you said you couldn't get into recovery. Sorry.
Well, Glad things are going good now:)
