Root [Verizon] Help with wallpaper

rtburg

Lurker
I have a downloaded image I have set as my wallpaper, but it reverts to stock "water" wallpaper after reboot. The image I want to stay is loaded on my ExtSD card. So frustrating---please help a new member to the s3 rooted community.

Welcome rtburg!
Does this happen with only that certain image or other images?
How do you go about setting the wallpaper?
From "settings"? or from the gallery or QuickPic..or other?
What rom do you run? Is there a setting in the rom that perhaps is overriding your wallpaper choice?

Are you on the rom's stock launcher, or a different launcher?

Sorry about all those questions, but just need to try to narrow this issue down:)

Sorry in advance for ignorance of rookie rooter.

Kernel 3.0.31
4.1.2
Have tried both gallery and set wallpaper in settings
Nova Launcher

Live wallpapers seem to work fine after reboot. Pictures still revert back to stock wallpaper water after reboot.

I think it does that because the external SD gets mounted after the system boots up, so it won't 'find' the image when the launcher comes up first, while it's still 'scanning media' so it defaults to stock which would be on the internal storage.
