Root [Verizon] Hey guys, REALLY need some help! New here.

Hey guys, how's everyone doing?

Obviously I'm new here, and I really need some help, I've sort of dug myself into a hole attempting to root my Verizon GS3. I followed what I now believe is a very incomplete step-by-step, as I read some other guides after the fact and realized there are several things I should have done first.

I'm much dumber than a lot of you, fully admitted. I was told this was an easy process, but I'm finding it rather difficult.

I installed Odin, downloaded an MD5 file, booted the phone in download mode, flashed the MD5 to the phone, the download finished, and nothing happened, so I unplugged the phone I think a LITTLE prematurely, but shortly after I did, Odin gave me a PASS.

NOW when I start the phone, It gives me the samsung logo, and the galaxy s3 logo, then goes blank. Nothing. The phone is still on, but is completely unresponsive, so I have to take the battery out.

The phone still displays the battery graphic when charging.

The phone will still boot in download mode and recovery mode, but I can no longer get my computer to recognize the phone as a device, thus I can no longer flash anything to it. The only option I can think of is to download whatever the necessary recovery apps are, onto my SD card, boot the phone in recovery mode, and flash to the phone from that?

I'm fully aware I did this very incorrectly, probably did something very stupid, but now I just want the phone to return to working order, or to complete the root if I'm able to. Please help!

Try plugging it up with ODIN again. Odin recognized my S2 which was stuck at the Samsung Galaxy SII splash screen when both my PC and Samsung Kies would not. If ODIN recognizes the phone start over and this time wait for the PASS before you unplug anything.
 
Update: OK, so I was able to get Odin to pick up the phone, reinstalled the MD5 file, and things are better than they were, but now when the first first boots to the OS, I get the notification bar at the top, and all the programs immediately start crashing: Touchwiz, badgeprovider, and particularly one called android.process.acore. They crash over and over again and I can't access anything. What do I need to do next?
 
What guide are you following?
And currently, what version of Android do you have?
Also Kies does not play well with Odin (in other words, either disable or uninstall Kies if you have it installed)
